I agree that almost ALL Asian aftermarket (vs. OEM), mobo companies should be ashamed of what they have released for sale to end users in the past 3 or more years -- due to the countless defects. It is surprising to see Epox have such problems because in the past their mobos have been better than the majority.
It's time that Asus, Abit, DFI, Sapphire, Gigabyte, etc. get very expensive class action lawsuits, (like Nvidia has now), to make these unscrupulous companies change their ways and deliver a quality product that at least meets industry standards and the advertising claims made by the company.
If truth in advertising laws were enforced every CEO and marketing manager from the Asian aftermarket mobo companies listed above would likely be imprisoned for consumer fraud, IMNHO. It's just criminal the way these companies operate.
The sad reality is that hardware review sites who knowingly HYPE inferior, defective mobos, encourage consumer fraud. There is absolutely no reason other than financial gain to rush a half-baked POS out the door when a company knows full well the product is defective. When you have websites that blatantly misrepresent the facts and overlook the most basic fundamentals of mobo operation like proper and stable vcore voltages, proper operation of brand name, top quality, industry standard PC3200 or similar DRAM, proper BIOS options and function, etc. then you have shills promoting defective goods for profit.
Until consumers stop buying this CRAP the mobo companies will continue to ship this CRAP. For the newbies... there was a time maybe 5 years ago when you could actually buy a quality mobo, at a reasonable price, that actually performed as advertised complete with overclocking options that functioned properly. In the past 3 or more years the mobo companies have gone into the GIMMICKS mode with outrageous and unsubstantiated performance claims, very poor quality design, engineering and production and sky high prices for these defective products. And for prices 3-5 times higher than what they should be, you get absolutely ZERO customer support as documented by any number of websites and consumers who have purchased these defective products and have been taken to the cleaners.
Financially supporting con artist companies and scammers is bad for everyone who desires quality, reliable PC hardware and software. the only way you get these folks to go back to delivering quality products is to refuse to buy the defective CRAP they have been shipping. Obvioulsy many consumers are braindead and run out and buy the trick-of-the-week PC hardware hyped by websites. As a result we now have a PC industry when CRAP is the main product with few options other than to say NO I won't buy this crap or file class action lawsuits to stop this consumer fraud. So let the class action suits begin in full force if that's what the unscrupulous companies require to change their ways.
