Should have bought Nvidia shares, they are really cleaning up with the only DX10 complaint hardware on the market, I know I am gonna get flamed about it not really been DX10 because there are no drivers, but realistically, if I was upgrading now, would I really pay $400+ for a card that will not support DX10 ?. No brainer !. ATI/AMD missed out on the juicy christmas rush, now they are letting Nvidia get even more market share !!!

I think AMD wanted to close a gap K8L release with R600 release so ATI fans can upgrade the next desktop for Vista...Ironically ; )

Between NVIDIA driver support and ATI manufacturing debacles I'm about sick of both companies.

I am a sad ATI fanboy who is seeing the ultimate destruction of his beloved company caused by stupid management.

ATI = F.U.D. When NVIDIA had 2x 7800GTX in SLI, ATI screamed all over the net they will introduce X1800 soon, with Crossfire. They did not, card was 6 months delayed and master cards were not available for purchase even 12 months later.

Today we have NVIDIA 8800GTX, 2x better than ATI X1950, and ATI is (again) spreading F.U.D. about non-existant R600, to stop would-be NVIDIA buyers.

Sad for ATI, truth is revealed today.. No F.U.D. anymore. Everybody go buy 8800GTX! :-)

While I'm definitely no fannboy or apologist, I will say that while annoying, it's not altogether surprising that this has happened. Also note that every time a product seems delayed (hardware that is), it's usually worth it when it comes out.

All we can hope for is the cheapest cards possible. I think the x2900xtx might go for $500 or more while its litle brother will go for $400 or less. At least thats what I hope.
