I want to imagine who will patronise this innovative technology especially when AMD is giving up the Duron Processors and upgrading the Athlon XP to socket 754.Indicating that very soon that Athlons are not expected to exits on any socket other than 754 and 940. Well some of the lovers of Athlon xps at 462 of throbred and Barton will have a greater edge here.

i just read your review of the asus av600 board and have to say that it is right on target. However there is something i would like to see you add to that article is the wi-fi feature. Although this board is slow and marginal the networking features give it special interest for some folks. So far though, i have only been able to find the hype about thier wi-fi add-on feature and no pricing or availibilty so far to make a decision of whether this would make the purchase of the board worthwhile. details about the cost and availibility could make it a deal breaker.
Does anyone have any comments or information about the pricing, performance, or availibilty of this add-on card compared with a basic wi-fi solution or AP????

the bad performance is very likely just coming from the use of the 4.48!!! i experienced the same with my epox 8k9ai: i lost 7-10% perfomance! and i can tell you, i carried out my measurements carefully: reinst of the 4.45, which is the fastest hyperion so far, just overcame the problems.

i did not believe the drop in perfomance in the first time, but the thing was reproductionable.

Why oh why is this board sooo crap... Ive got athlon xp 2800+ which runs at nearly 60 degrees c in a different board it runs at 40. Wot is it doing to it??? I also have a nice asus radeon 9600xt to go with the board as i was told u get best compatibility when the graphics card make is the same as the motherboard make! How wrong was I!!!! Soooo many problems... Cant use latest catalyst drivers and cant use via 4 in 1 hyperion drivers as they cause the computer to simply crash all the time!!! Im not happy!! Wish id gon with abit now!!!! :-(

yes I also have a a7v600 mobo, and an asus radeon 9600xt, and whenever ı install the via4in1 and the ati drivers, pc crashes. Then ı updated the bios but now I cannot even use the computer with my ati even if I dont install the via4in1 :( my 200gb hdd broke down because of the crashes caused by these problems and I lostall of my data ! :(

Hey, you lost all your data because you didn't create a backup (!!!).
You changed the hardaware/driver without performing the recommended backup before - a really smart guy ...
