The test result showed that Intel Core 2 Duo cannot be beaten by AMD in performance and price.

Intel is your bigger brother, AMD is your best friend who steals all your girlfriends when your not looking....

Great review, If AMD doesnt do something soon, not only will they fall out, they will end up taking ATI with them lol......

this artical is very informative although i own an intel e4300 and it happily reach's 3.6ghz the only fault is its to voltage hungry to reach these speeds which is a shame as the sky would be the limits with this cpu(maybe a design fault intended by intel to max out on volt's as no one would purchase there exspensive model cpu's)

Why pay $20 more for th E4400 or $50 more for the E6300 when you can ove clock the E4300 to well over 2.0 Ghz?

The Inel Core2 Duo E6320 is an excellent all around processor. Also, this was an Excellent article and I want to Thank xbitlabs for a job well done as their testing of the Core2 Duo newbie's speak loud and clear.

what an idiot you have to be in order to believe Word or Excell documents processing comparison.

They are Microsoft+Intel guys and they will not allow any fair comparisons.

If you use Linux, than Athlon X2 Brisban CPU is very often even 2 times faster than Core 2 Duo in such tasks like text processing using GNU tools.

So, for Linux Desktop or Linux Web Server - AMD is the best, as well as it has good price of CPU and fast Motherboard.

Why werent the AMD 64 X2 5200+ or AMD 64 X2 5600+, which both have 1 x 2 MB cache, included in the comparison tests? These two are cheaper than the intel E6300, but perform better.

If you buy an Intel and AMD processor (both at similar price point) and compare price-to-performance ratio, AMD wins. No doubt.

In this article AMD 64 X2 5200+, AMD 64 X2 5600+, and AMD 64 X2 6000+, were not included in the comparison tests. These AMD processors have more cache (2 x1 MB) and are faster. If you buy an Intel and AMD processor at similar price point and compare price-to-performance ratio, AMD wins. No doubt about that. Also, motherboards for AMD are cheaper than motherboards for intel. AMD wins, no doubt.

These are the type of articles that you should find as standout features for any PC magazine. For someone not so techy, I found this article very helpful to make sense of all the new chips out on the market. THANKS SO MUCH.
