I dunno, for nvidia at least it's porbably definately the time to be talking about new hardware, they are REALLY in the s**t now that they can't jsut claim all problems are due to 'synthetic benchmarks' they are suffering _horribly_ at the hands of ati in the half life 2 benchmarks released recently.

it's about time they released a part that not only still kicked ATI's ass in opengl (any disbeleivers go play with some proffesional 3d apps / benchmarks ) but did the same with directx 9 in raw hardware, instead of having to mess about with alternate codepaths and funky diver optimisations that there competitors dont need ... i really can't see the nv38 doing that , they should save their money, not press the chips, dont saturate the market with more w*nk overpriced poorly designed cards, and get on with the nv40 instead, cos i'll nevr buy an ATI part while they suck so bad at pro apps, but i'll never buy nv3x either.. and i WANT dx9 hw! :-/
