My OCZ 850watt PSU blew it's primary capactor (taiwanese made) exactly 7 days after I first installed it. I hope this purchase of theirs will make their PSU's a bit more reliable in the future.

This is great news. I live in Europe and PC Power & Cooling power supplies are unavailable. OCZ makes the best products, I'm sure they'll do great things together. I'm excited to see what kind of joint solutions they come out with in the future.

I don't think this will be good. Big company buys small company. Starts to cut manufacturing costs & change to cheaper parts suppliers. I'm buying my PC Power & Cooling power supply tomorrow before it's too late.
Just my opinion

Unfortunately this is unlikely to be good. The only product OCZ ever offered that was any good IMO was their early DRAM. Ever since they got some recognition, they have branched out into GIMMICKS and POS products like their over-rated PSUs and other crap.

PC Power and Cooling is a fine company but I doubt they can undue the damage OCZ has done to it's product line and reputation.

For the record PC Power and Cooling has sold their products online for years and now some major E-tailers like NewEgg also carry the high-end model PSUs. In my experience of 25+ years building PCs, PCPC PSUs have been the gold standard and I've used both the Silent and Hi-Perf series PSUs without a failure, just top notch quality and service.

I wouldn't give you ten cents for OCZ however.

That can't be good, OCZ is more flash and bling than anything else... I hope those tanks that PCP&C won't evolve into crappy market carts... I'd rather buy a two year old second hand PSU built by PCP&C than a new OCZ.

I dunno, I've had an OCZ 500W psu for a year now, and it's been rock-solid 24-7 for the entire time (I never turn this particular PC off), even in crappily hot SoCal weather.

Hi Everyone, first let me identify myself as an employee here at the OCZ Technology Group.

I appreciate all the comments, and let you know that we value all the feedback and do listen as we create and constantly refine our products. First let me reassure everyone that there will be no changes to the PC Power and Cooling units, and the design and manufacturer of these units is still controlled by their CEO, Doug Dodson, as he moves into a new role of CTO. This allows him to focus on the design of future units. PC Power was looking for increased resources to design even better products, and that is exactly what we have provided. The OCZ Power supplies have sold very well, and will continue to exist as they target a different market.

The PC Power units will be aimed at enthusiasts, servers, industrial, and mission critical systems.

The OCZ units are a great choice for gamers, modders, and entry enthusiasts.

By bringing the two companies together we are able to offer a total solution for a wider range of customers. Thanks again for everyone’s feedback, and stay tuned for some exciting new introductions at Computex next week.
