Nvidia sells Quadro Plex too, that seems like a nice solution if u got 15000 bucks to spare, it makes the tesla look like a f**kin toy

quadro plex is designed completly different from geforce cards. a geforce card is designed for full screen antialiasing and anistropic filtering to improve the visual quality of games and movies while a quadro card is designed for multi tasking and line anti aliasing for programs such as cad. its not worth the extra money to buy quadro products inless you areplanning on designing something with cad

so when will this baby be out.... getting excited... here :) ... want 1 now :D

Regardless of the authenticity of the claims, it would be nice to think that Nvidia are making an effort to speed up the development of hardware. Games and software are pushing the current technology to its limits, and people would also like their hardware to be relevant for at least 12 months after purchase. Some of the DirectX 10 benchmarks that are floating around make the current generation of graphics cards look appauling, and barely usable for DX10 applications. The more speed the better.

well what sort of processors are you seeing these dx10 cards being used with? the graphics card actually does very little. all of the work comes from the cpu. all the graphics card can actually do is antialiasing, anistropic filtering, and shading. it is the processor which draws the characters, the environment, the physics processes telling the characters and environment what to do, the user inputs such as aiming, shooting, etc. in the long run it is the processor you want to look at. did you ever stop and think why dual core and quad core processors are much better for gaming and at lower clock rates?

Do you realy believe a CPU can render geometry units, vertexes, shaders and textures?
All the CPU does is process given information and control things such as AI and variables, and calculate Psychics.

Well, even if the amount of power isn't true, the audio chip is highly believable because of HDMI. This kind of bugs me because it implies that a graphics card basically has a sound card on it. Please, someone tell me that I'm just being an idiot and that the chip is just an output for sound, and the chip leeches off a real sound card. I'll take any crazy theory to please my X-Fi Elite Pro.

well just so you know graphics cards are not designed to do any sort of processing at all except for antialiasing and filtering. all of the real work comes from the cpu. again it is the same thing with a sound card. a sound card does not do any work with anything except for making audio signals into something that the cpu can understand. even with the best sound card out there you are only going to see at most about a 15% increase in actual sound quality. sure the sound card can split up channels, but thats about it. so don't worry about it, it was pretty much a waste of money in the first place.

It seems that this is just the same old cr@p that the Inq told us back to days when R600 will be released at the end of 2006, and the attached cr@p that how R600 will shine before everybody's eyes......

Those figures you've posted looks very awesome, but it seems to me that they are pure projections. Oh by the way, I can also project the numbers for R680 similarly...

R680 Core hardware:
Superscalar VLIW architecture
65 nm process
More than 800 MHz core frequency
957.4 million transistors*
425 Vec5 superscalar ALUs* (85 stream processing units)
631.125 GFLOPS raw shader power (1.485 GFLOPS per ALU)
512-bit memory ring bus (1024-bit bi-directional)
Samsung 1 GB GDDR4 (0.7 ns) @ 2450 MHz, max. 2 GB for FireGL
Memory bandwidth 313.6 GB/s
-> larger texture, vertex L1, L2 caches
-> 32 Raster Operation Pipelines (ROPs)
Higher hardware tessellation ratio (from currently 1:15)
7.1 surround sound capable audio controller on-die
UVD gen 2 on-die, offloads more formats besides H.264, VC-1, and MPEG2
upgradable to GDDR5 memory, 2 GB for desktop, maximum 4096 MB (4 GB) for FireGL in late-2008

Note: * figures projected by a 1.33x more transistors by the same die size as R600, I guess ATI will be better in sillcon scaling, thus maybe more transistors will be packed than those figures projected.

DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.0 full compliancy and support
Full PCI-E 2.0 support
Dual/single DisplayPort and/or HDMI with dual decryption keys on-die, also in the options are DVI, D-Sub and TV out

Double precision FP calculations capable (FP64)
CTM 2.0, thin hardware interface
Folding@Home and distributed computing support through monthly-updated Catalyst drivers

CrossFire 2.0: allow at most 4 cards connected, one/two for Gamplay physics.
CrossFire 3.0: allowing more than 4 cards to be connected and codenamed "Lasso", external PCI-E cabling enclosure with more than 2 cards up to 16 cards running CrossFire, for professional graphics.

Software features:
30x and 36x CFAA options, more filters
OverDrive capabilities
ATI powerplay 8.0

R670, mainstream version, with reduced features

Is that okay? Although that's not enough to beat G90, but considering it's only a half-generation product, that's enough eye-candies for now, bye. :)

its fine with all these comments but do you get a free game as part of a bundle or maybe a small nuclear power station to get it started ??

you guys are serious dickheads. maybe you should do soem research.

so shut the fuck up!!!!!
go researched on nvidia's website, THEY COMFIRMED IT DICKHEAD!
type geforce 9800 into google right now, i dare ya. EVERY page that comes up comfirms the awesome, raw gaming power the new gtx will bring.
So stop dissing the fucking card and accept it!

I agree with the last comment. You expect someone to pump out something 10 times better in just a year. Are you going to buy Quad Dual 9800GTX and all that when it comes out??? If not then Shut up.

geforce 10 Series to launch in Q1 08!!!!!
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 11/07/07 05:08:35 AM]

let them dream... let them dream...

GeForce 9 is just a dream now.. a dream prolly on the paper and designed already but still a tiny bit far in future!!

rumors point all in same direction tho.. march or april 2008!

5 months...or more... who knows...

Just wanna say that the 9800 series is just a lie.
People who are trying to pu people to beleive this are just wasting their time.
But there will be a new series coming out in about march but it will have a totally new name. Some thought that it will have a chronological order and started the rumour of the 9800 and G92, but they will have a totally new look and new series.

lol, I think the 9800GTX will come out if you check, I just think it will have a G94 GPU because the 9600GT has come out and it has a G94 GPU. Why won't the other 9 series follow? Maybe there will be a G98 core that the 9800GTX, but G94 seems the most realistic as of now when the 9600GT has been benchmarked allready on
