By Q4 2007 (Xmas) NVIDIA will be releasing their GeForce 9800 series GPUs.
Unlike previously expected the codename for nVidia's next generation GPU will NOT be "G90" but instead be "G92".

I have some info form NVIDIA insider about the upcoming G92 graphics processors.

G92 will be released in November 2007 timeframe in the form of "GeForce 9800" series.

"G92" GeForce 9800 GTX specs.

- 65nm process technology at TSMC.
- Over one billion transistors.
- Second Generation Unified Shader Architecture.
- Double precsion support (FP64).
- GPGPU native.
- Over one TeraFLOPS of shader processing power.
- MADD+ADD configuration for the shader untis (2+1 FLOPS=3 FLOPS per ALU)
- Fully Scalar design.
- 512-bit memory interface.
- 1024MB GDDR4 graphics memory.
- DirectX 10.1 support.
- OpenGL 3.0 Support.
- eDRAM die for "FREE 4xAA".
- built in Audio Chip.
- built in tesselation unit (in the graphics core"
- Improved AA and AF quality levels

65nm process will allow for better yields and better power consumption. power consumption will be lower than that of a GeForce 8800 GTX.

GeForce 9800 GTX will be over two times faster than a GeForce 8800 Ultra in real world games and applcations.

Release date : November 2007. There will be TWO products at launch: The flagship GeForce 9800 GTX and the second fastest GeForce 9800 GTS.

price for the GeForce 9800 GTX will be 549-649 USD.

price for the GeForce 9800 GTS will be 399-449 USD.

Erik, you are full of shit.

You're going to need some insane sources to back up those unbeliavble claims.

Ive just received word from the most reliable source in the world.....JESUS. He has told me the following about the 9800 JTX (Jesus X-Treme) !

-6500MM (mega metre) process technology, at MSMMMCFPPC
-Over 700 thousand transvestites
-Second Generation Unified Vader Architecture
-Triple precision magnitude flux capacitors
-Over one TeraFARTS of shader processing ability like jedi's
-MAD+AD homosexual party
-Fully secular priesthood design (touch those kiddies with extra fps!)
-1280-bit memory interface (cos god doesn't hold back)
-4TB GDDR7 graphics memory
-DirectX 42.12c support
-OpenJL 500.326.8 compliant shader support
-eDRAM die for "FREE BJ from a priest"
-built in Cunt (for real men)
-built in boobs
-Improved AA and Ahh fuck off quality levels

"Produced by god, patented by jesus"

You made so many spelling mistakes in your version Erik. Im thinking a real Nvidia source would be less sloppy.

Thank you for making me laugh harder than I have ever laughed in about 2 years. JESUS X-TREME HAHAHAHAHA

If this card realy is 2times faster then most the geforce 8800 ultra you bet im going to buy it!
that must be awsome when your playing games with full AA and AF on.
then i havn't wait all this time for nothing. i hope there will be new CPU lines out as well around the first quarter of 2008 then i might buy an uber computer hehe! :)

Sounds pretty weak compared to the X38 IMO

X38 is a northbridge chipset on motherboards, G92 is supposed to be the new GPU for Nvidia Geforce 9 series cards; you can't compare them.

You can, really

No you can't jackass, thats like comparing apples and oranges.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 09/03/07 08:43:56 PM]

what we really want to know is will it work with the older 965p, 680i, 975x chipsets, on a pci-e 1 slot.

I'll be waiting for the R700 I think ;)

yeah, wait for ATI's next shit card you moron
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 01:59:56 PM]
Yea a fucking will be, got a problem?

I never said its the R700 I'll buy though.

You're a moron, you know. And yeah I have a fucking problem with that.

Leave him alone just because hes not like "OMG SPECS THAT COULD BE POSTED BY ANYONE ARE 100% TRUE" I dont believe this anymore than I believed Ageia would actually become a dominant force in technology

That looks like one serous card.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/16/07 08:22:53 AM]

Wow, that is one hell of a card..... I'm barely surviving with my gpu right now and i'm thinking of upgrading to one of these. I'm just not sure if I can hold on this long... Are you sure the release is on November? And will the power consimption be more like the 8800 gts?
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/16/07 12:17:19 PM]

why arnt they using hdmi yet? id like to plug it straight into my hd lcd/tv. i bet as soon as i buy it the next cards out will have hdmi.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/21/07 08:44:47 PM]

Your kidding me. Who needs something THIS good?
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/24/07 11:59:03 PM]

who doesn't need something this good... a fair amount of dx10 games will be out by xmas and for running em maxed out on a 30" monitor (2560x1600)¿ an 8800gtx sli simply wont do. and if it does it'll cost more than this 1 card so personally i'd rather take 1 good card for less than 2 cards. also current 8 series cards are fairly suck as they are very inefficient, poorly optimized, and performance is limited with current design. for ex: in NVIDIA's current architectures, the interpolation units are a major bottleneck where more attributes can require interpolating for vertices than the interpolation unit can handle. this is only 1 of a few other simple easy to fix design flaws that shoudl be ironed out with the g92 series cards. which is one reason nVidia has manages to make a card 2-3x more powerful in only 1 year.
example of 8800gtx sucking is the best gtx can only manage a minimum of 16fps in lost planet stress test. noted lost planet isnt optimized for pc and current drivers suck.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 01:06:23 AM]
Basically, no. Current GTX and GTS cards are amazing. Thats not to say anything to come out later wont be better, of course it will. But buying an 8800 card now and getting amazing performance on DX9 AND DX10 games is probably not such a bad idea. I mean, theres such a thing as waiting forever and just thinking "The next one, ill get the next one!"
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/29/07 05:22:47 AM]
umm... Crysis
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/27/07 09:41:57 PM]
Gosh. Those who play Solitaire shouldn't post.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/27/07 09:55:45 PM]
Because even with two 8800 Ultra cards in SLi, games like Flight Simulator X will give you shit frame rates if you try to run it on ultra high settings. Dont expect Crysis to be any better.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 08/10/07 05:09:04 AM]
When Nvidia unveiled the 8800gtx they ran Crysis on one 8800gtx in full graphics with dx10 with a 50+fps im pretty sure it'll run okay.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 10/04/07 07:29:24 AM]

2 times faster? no fucking way, it'd be awesome, but i don't believe it.

i get awful fps in the lost planet stress test...

but if you disable high shadows and set them to medium, i think it's 2 options you have to switch, the fps triples =)

visually, i can't see the diff either, both look just as good.

wow... i'd love all this to be true... time to sell my gtx8800 =)
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 02:09:54 AM]

As long as they don't reuse 6600GT PCBs AGAIN for the 9600 series...
I don't even know why they reuse the PCBs and the 128bit bus that comes with it for the 7600 or 8600 series, if I see a 6600GT PCB/128bit bus for the 9600 series I think my head would explode.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 11:00:09 AM]

"I have some info form NVIDIA insider"

Yeh, sureeee you do..

This seems 100% bullshit to me.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 01:34:06 PM]

Probaly not even ,theyre gona do 2500mhz memory on a 32 bit bus and a whole wopping 132 shaders.

woopdeedoo, this is fake.

1 BILLION transistors??? HELLO, how much heat/power is this thing gona do?
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 02:36:09 PM]

You know people aren't going to believe you without more proof.

I caught the same kind of flack (people saying it was bull) on another forum last year when I posted a link I found on VR-Zone about the pending release of 680i mobos.

Anyway, if this is true, I think I'll forego buying a new GPU until November, as I was planning on getting an X38 board around then anyway.

nobody will ever need more that 512k of system memory

WHATTTT U forreal????
i hope this is true.

and to the guy about the 6600gt resused PBC's

MANNNN i hope they dont reuse them YET AGAIN, (i have two 8600gts) but i didnt pay over 200 :P haha

whoops typo on previous comment. 512K OMFG That wont even run frikken DOS man

You are the weakest link. Good bye
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 11/08/07 09:46:15 AM]

Lets see im sure 1 billion = 1'000'000'000

Don't CPUs have something around the 200-600 Million transistors?

Thats 500'000'000 so this 1 card which doesn't do nearly as much as a CPU yet has twice the amount of transistors?

GPUs have been exceeding the number of transistors that cpus have for a while now....What rock have you been hiding under?
Why do you think Nvidia came up with the Tesla GPU based processors for computations that normal cpus can't even touch? Look it up, man! Seriously!!
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 06:58:59 PM]
Gosh. You need to get up to date with GPU transistors count.

Your Mom sucks Donkey Ass! :P

But seriously, ATI does need to get their act together. I mean, they just came out with the 2900XT, which isn't bad, but they need to get ahead of NVIDIA or at least even with them if they are going to remain competition. No more of this releasing a card almost by the time NVIDIA has the friggin next generation of cards out. That's ridiculous.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 10:43:08 PM]

NVIDIA will only release this card on time as scheduled IF ATI makes a come back at a competitive rate with a good new card.
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/25/07 11:36:00 PM]

Rumors about the price... If 9800 GTX is more powerful than 8800 Ultra, then why will it be much cheaper than the latter??????

Plz don't tell me just because of its supposedly 65nm based technology
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/26/07 04:57:28 AM]

Mother Of God...Are you kiddin me?? And i was JUST about to buy my 8800 O_o ... FFS now i have to wait more1
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/26/07 05:59:34 AM]

If you think that new card is going to be fast,Then Google nVidia new Tesla C830 @ $1200-$1400 each. This is for medical researh, but can also be used for gaming,But they said it would be like using a nuke to kill a bag.You have to read the specs to see just how fast this card is.

sorry about that there's a few typos; Research/Bug
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 07/27/07 08:13:30 AM]
it is not a platform designed for gaming, it is for the specific use of high performance computing. anyways it is just a g80 core with programming for general purpose computing (i.e. its a geforce 8800) lol put better research in, google is crap
0 0 [Posted by:  | Date: 08/01/07 02:50:21 AM]

I DONT CARE WHAT Nvidia say about their cards cause ATI is comin out with something better and cheaper that will beat the living shit out of those cards.
