1. How do you know that penryn processors are going to be expensive?
[Posted by: Stalker | Date: 06/16/07]
CPUs with new architectures are never cheap right from the start.

The Author's sources differ from what I've read - we've got a 45nm QX launching Q4'07.

2. Wow, I could hardly disagree more..., "It is still too early to think about CPUs with 333MHz bus support as Core 2 Duo E6x50 processors will be announced only in mid summer."

...I presume you're either ignorant of the 'free' 1066>1333MHz Overclock available or don't find it as extremely valuable as everybody in my neck of the woods.

Youth didn't hurt the P5B-Deluxe so the premise of your article (Introductory statement) seems a bit pessimistic or old-fashioned.

3. Thanks please review P5K-E for us tanx

4. They may be expensive but the situation would be different from DDR3 memory. So it does makes sense to buy a p35 motherboard. You can buy a p35 mobo, wait for the prices to drop and buy a 45nm processor.

7. Hello,

If you guys still have the board, would you be able to check if there are any problems with an optical drive or IDE hard drive connected to the PATA port.

I have been fighting with this board for the last few days, as soon as any device is connected to the PATA port, the attached device stops working.

Cheers,
Roger

8. XBitLabs wake up !!!
Where are the nice articles from the old times? You plugged your site with ads and stupid graphics, but the articles are deplorable. No more technical stuff inside, just things like "woooow, that's good", "this a a nice feature", "we will see ".

Where are the old people who can write the technical articles?
I miss those days.

11. Some of these Asus P35 boards are very new, for instance there are no in- depth reviews or benchmarks for either the P5K-E/WIFI-AP or the new Asus P5K-C. At least this review gives us a basic look at the major differences between them. The P5K-E looks to be vey good value for money if your on a tight budget but wan't P5K Deluxe perrformance. The Asus P5K-C gives us an alternative to the only other decent board featuring DDR2 / DDR3 support that's made by Gigabyte. The new Core 2 Duo 1333 FSB cpus with corresponding price drops will be here in a few weeks, and I think these new Asus P35 boards will be very popular when that happens.

I don't get the rant about USB vs. PS/2... I've been using only USB devices for years now. If you must hold on to your ancient deices, adapters from PS/2 to USB are available and we need to move on from only having 4 USB ports on he back of machines in the day and age of USB printers, scanners, storage devices, and other peripherals.

14. You saved me a lot of trouble, not to mention some serious money. Thank you so much. Its going to be 965 for now.

15. All I can say is that for the price that you pay for this board and the features you get, you get one heck of a deal. Its an enthusiast board all the way. Not the best, but not the worst either. I also own a P5DW2-Premium also, and I'll say that ASUS makes some incredible boards when you don't get a lemon.
