This artical is very informative and I thank you so much for it. I thoguh I was going to go with an Athlon 64 3400+ but I've now decided that a P4 3.4 ghz is a much better choice based off the benchmarks. The one thing I beleive you should have included in this artical is that the P4 can use socket 775, and the P4 extream can use socket 775 making it easier to buy cheap now and upgrade to the extream later when it's cheap. The Athlon 64s use socket 745 (I think) and 939 but the FX series uses socket 940 so thus you will have to buy a whole new system board jsut to make the upgrade to a better chip series.

No clear conclusion. Lots of techno rambling trying to look impressive, but left me cold & loss trust of this site. Headed elsewhere for definite results summerized better.
