What moron would estimate sales that high? The iPhone is an -expensive- "investment". We're not just talking about $500. We're talking $500 plus an expensive contract. Isn't it even a -TWO- year contract?
Honestly I hope the iPhone fails. With that failure, I hope most users will realize that with every Apple product, you will find an equivalent OR better product for the same price -or cheaper-. I'm not saying any of their products are bad. Its just you can have better.

I've had my PALM Treo for quite some time. As far As I know, this DRM free Media player, phone, email, air card, and web browser in one cost less then the i-phone, and has sold far more units in its various models.
It's not that "the prospects of the gadget that combines phone, digital media player and an Internet browser may not turn out to be that bright." It's that many of us owning one ALREADY won't pay 6-700$ on top of a 3 year agreement for something we already have.
iphone is mac-chic, but not the first, and not the best of the convergence devices. Its also horridly overpriced, like most other mac-chic-shi*.
And on top of it, I have to manage it all through itunes? give me a break.

Already tried calling Apple for a price on the iPhone. They were unable to provide one or sell my any Apple products.
