1. Seems like Intel is starting to feel threatened by Barcelona.

HAH please, save me the trouble of laughter. Intel has the performance crown, and will keep it. Barcelona is weaker than core architecture's clock for clock let alone penryn.Another BIG screwup on the AMD side and the beginning of the end for this company. [Posted by: Mr. BonBon | Date: 09/10/07]
Barcelona has not been out yet and you should not judge it just yet.BTW, stop comparing clock vs clock. [Posted by: linuxnerd | Date: 09/11/07]
I hate to give you a wakeup slap, but go ahead and check the benchmarks of the already released Barcelona.techreport.com anandtech.com [Posted by: Mr. BonBon | Date: 09/11/07]
2. I love AMD!!!

3. As always, Intel systems never scale to several hundreds of processors like AMD systems. Since AMD has an integrated memory controller, the bus does not get congested. AMD's Hypertransport bus provides a cheaper system and more flexibility for the motherboard manufacture to place the chipset further away from the processor. The Intel 7300 chipset will be very expensive because of ~2025 pins. Sure FB-DIMM can read and write at the same time, but each processor have to share their time of accessing the memory.
This new chipset design might be appealing, but I suggest wait until Barcelona comes out. [Posted by: linuxnerd | Date: 09/11/07]
