Intel FUD dissected:
"But Intel claims that while it did not “make sense” to make single-die quad-core chip in 2006, it will be able to roll it out in 2008."
Maybe because they are late with it and don’t have it make sense to say this?
“At 65nm the die would be too big to hold four [Intel] cores and it would be so expensive it would not make sense.”
Well then it doesn’t make sense to build Itanium either, unless Itanium is cheap to make? Specially at the high cmos processes that Intel have been doing it?
Unless the expensive to make, means more Engineers, more money “wasted” at the design or the processor would be more expensive for us?
"Our 45nm process technology will allow us to do a monolithic quad-core design"
Since when cmos processes build monolithic designs? Unless AMD version is virtual? Unreal?
