Thank you so much Nvidia. Intel sucks so badly on graphics this should give a huge boost.

Businessweek calls Intel a bunch of graphics "wimps": http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/07_33/b40460 2.htm

AMD blows up Intel graphics:

Thanks Nvidia and AMD!!

Not give up anybodies hopes, but nVidia makes bad chipsets for Intel processors.

A Core 2 Duo and Intel's Quad core rarely need a FSB of 1333 MHz. Though integrated graphics will benefit from a wider memory bandwidth.

Intel graphics has a lot deficiencies. One is the chip have to be re-programmed for different resolutions besides the defaults. Another problem is majority of the 3D tasks are still handled by the processor. nVidia's integrated graphic chipsets do not have such problems. nVidia supports Windows, Mac, and Linux well, so nVidia could win some customers.

Hello....Chipsets anyone?

Chipsets are MORE than just the graphics chip.

The NB/SB/RAID controller...core logic is more than just graphics.

I saw some test results recently that showed the X3000 graphics core actually has more shader power than the 6150LE (any 61XX for that matter) and the X1250 Radeon integrated graphics.

I can run Halo (the original) and Far Cry on my X3000 at much-better-than-slideshow quality. Besides, if anyone really want to game, they'll buy X2000/8x00, won't they?

Can't beat integrated graphics in a portable notebook for space and power consumption. Period. INtel knows that is the real market...not the dying desktop, nor a tiny handful of enthusiasts.

So what is dual-channel DDR2 being phased out by
chipset makers like Nvidia?I was under the im-
pression single channel DDR was extinct.
