1. Due to format war or prohibitive cost?

2. One of the formats really needs to go. Once Sony releases the low priced PS3 in October or November for $399, the Blu Ray will gain a much larger user base, so hopefully that will help end the long format war, though I doubt very quickly.

Why will it gain a much larger user base? Games sell consoles. $399 PS3 is more than an Xbox Premium.

But that same console can also be used to play BD's and a 360 can only play an hd-dvd with the extra external disc drive. When more PS3's are sold there's a potential for higher BD movie sales. And when a PS3 is only $399 you could just buy it to watch BD's because a stand alone BD player is more expensive. $399 is also a competitive price against hd-dvd players. Therefore a movie fan could just buy a PS3 in order to watch HD movies.

3. I'm getting sick of this whole format war. This just has to end.

4. Fuck this format war.
I for one am rooting for IP-TV. I already bittorrent 720p movies. If more become available, I might start bit torrenting 1080p. Fuck BLuegay and HD-DVfuck!
