Those numbers are flop!

If you are reading this Microsoft, lots of people after one week interacting with your ORIGINAL Vista OS installed the PIRATE VERSION of Windows XP because your new OS sucks! The computer easily slows down by a factor of 3X just using Vista.

So those numbers don’t have the people that paid for vista in their brand new notebook and uninstalled it in a week!

Also next people upgrade XP to Linux!
Get ready for a huge Linux bump with the crash free Firefox (instead of the crappy IE7.0)!

It just goes to show you how horrible Vista really is! Why it's at 8% I'll never know. What should be counted is units sold not OEM!

It doesn't use sold unit counted or oem sells. It uses websites to track actual users. It's probably the most accurate way of knowing the percentage of current os users. So your one time install might have counted a few months ago, but it wouldn't count know.

NetApplications means for data collection are not necessarily looking at a proper cross-section of the market, nor does it have November info in yet, yet that is the only source available. However, from what I see in neutral web forums, website meters, etc is that Mac OS X market share is about 10%, vista is less than 8%, Mac and Linux are becoming MORE recommended and favored over Windows, and that more people are planning to move to Mac OS X Leopard than Windows Vista (see http://polls.cnet.com/polls/show_results.php?action=results amp;poll_ident=2014 cnet poll). While in 2006, 40% of businesses planned to switched to Vista by the end of 2007, that number has dropped to 7%. Windows even had to extend their support of XP for another few years.

Even your own X-bit labs poll showed that almost as many people wanted an Apple notebook as wanted a Windows laptop, and that's not counting the ones who want it with XP and not Vista.

Explain why when Windows has 90 percent of the market share and Mac has 6, the number of Leopard and Vista sales in their first weekend were nearly equal? And judging by the respective product reviews on Amazon.com for the different operating systems, I think that number is going proceed to favor Mac more than Windows.
