1. Thank you for the review Oleg!

As I understand from other reviews, the image quality displayed on LCD screens can vary significantly depending on:
1. The brand and model of graphic card used.
2. The type of interface used: analog or DVI.

Could you please specify which interface type did you use on the LCD models with DVI interface? Did you use both DVI and analog and compare on the same monitors? Or did you use the analog interface on all monitors?

I'm using only analog input and Matrox Millennium I videocard. But if you DVI interface - usually image quality would be slightly better.

2. Samsung has it's 192* line of LCD. Whis one line is beter in all aspects compared to aoudated 191* line!

Yes, SyncMaster 192V, 192B and 192T will be in the next article.

3. The conclusion didn't show much of "which one to go for?" if we're in that position. Otherwise, informative article.

It's because there's no universal solution. Tastes differ - one would prefer faster response, but others would prefer better viewing angles...

I totally agree with the fact that a "Conclusion" should serve the very purpose of a comparison-review like this one. There are two kind of readers :

1. Those who want to buy a display.
They look for a quick conclusive answers.
2. The technical freaks. They look for details.

In addition to technical details and test results, there are two very classical and handy tools to satisfy both categories of readers.

1. A comparison table of aal the models, showing
- availibility of all features
- an evaluation quotation(1-10) of the characteristics
(colors, resolution, display quality, ergonomics, etc)
- street price

2. A graphic in which for each model a dot is shown, pointing to values
- on one axis the price in USD or Euro
- in the other axis, the total evaluation (sum of the weighted evaluation quotations)

The models compare in such graph very easely. You look between your budget limits range, for the best performing devices and there they are the ones you might want to buy !

Then you look for the actual day-price, if the review is outdated, or the model has been replaced by a newer model. At least you know where to look.

5. my comment would be I wonder how some of the HDTV monitors would hold up in this? Samsung has a 22inch LCD HDTV monitor that boasts a 16ms response time and I am dying to know how it would perform.

May be I'll test HDTVs later, but not soon, because there are a lot of untested computer displays...

6. Did someone forget to mention the price of the sony LCD's? Arent they about 150$ more expensive than their competitors products?
[Posted by: ThermalZeal | Date: 10/08/03]
My friend tells me that in Germany Samsung monitors more expensive than Sony, so it depends on country.

19" ViewSonic VX900
