As per your other news article, the delay is because the motherboards utilizing the 31/33/35 chipset that use a 4 layer PCB don't work with 45nM CPU's.
This by itself is very unusual and noteworthy. Considering that is what this chipset was made for. And what about the people that bought said mb's for the 45nM cpus......

5. this cant be true anyway, because they are already selling core 2 extremes with exactly the same specifications (also yorkfield core) so the "problems" have to be under control

anyway, i guess that's just an example of what will happen to US ALL "consumers" if there wasn't a healthy competition between processor manufacturers.

AMD fan boy, or Intel fan boy, or even a bashing fan boy .. all should be sad as right now only intel controls the market by:

[1] type of products "fast/ super fast/better than AMD"
[2] release dates, no hurry, even if it will
[3] prices as clearly AMD is having trouble lowering their prices, even with crappy products

You call this competition?!? AMD couldn't even come up with a chip that can perform marginally well in half of those benchmarks...

A true competitor should be able to beat its competitors is some aspects... the current AMD lineup is a mudslide!

Just because Intel's CORE architecture is a solid design and it leads most benchmarks, you fanboys blame them for monopoly! Wake up and tell AMD to stop screwing around!

8. Well, we can't have it both ways:

Camp1: Hey, who needs quad core anyhow? Almost everything out there is written for dual core or less. My 2002 (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006) era system still does just fine, thank you very much.

Camp2: Give me more cores, faster cores, better cores!! I can always use more power. Gimme gimme gimme!!

Dear Intel: Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Penryn avaliable for sale have no cache error so delay if any is a business decision

9. That's funny they call it a delay, I bought an HP machine with an Intel Quadcore last month. It works great.
