They've had the writeable versions for a while now. It's cool to see an HD DVD RW in a laptop though. You probably will not seem them in stores though as the Qosimos with the HD-DVD R drives have to be bought online.

I burn alot of my data to DVDs. Even though I save alot of stuff to my external drive I like to have a DVD copy to be safe. Still I accumlate so much stuff now a days I really would like an HD-DVD burner, but I will not really consider getting one until burnable media is around $1 a unit.
