42. shame you didn't include the E8400 in your overclocking tests, that cpu is the best bang for bucks out of the wolfdale range imo.

43. E8500 is for me, good price great OC' ability, just have to find the best hardware to keep everything running smooth, memory, harddrive, motherboard, case with good cooling.. etc.
I been looking closely at this line of cpu's for a long time and I am happy with what I have read.

44. Very informative all round. Particularly liked the section on gaming performance which was a bit of an eye-opener and makes an upgrade quite tempting.

45. 33W for the E8500? Are those figures verified and right? Seems abnormally little, even with a die shrink. If they're right tho, it's impressive.

46. Im gonna replace my E6600 to an E8500 soon...great test (missed 8400 OC a little bit )

47. Your overclock actually failed. 70C is the maximum temperature the CPU can take. The reason you saw it max out at 70C is because the CPU started taking naps to keep itself from incinerating.

To repeat, the CPU was not actually working at the frequency you think it was, because it was turning off the clock intermittently to prevent itself from overheating.

48. How did you get that processor?! I want one of those too!!!

Thank you for the great Review.
Keep up the good work.

52. those game benchmarks are at low res and medium quality, sure the cpu difference is more prominent at those settings but it hardly represents real world gaming does it

54. Which Crysis benchmark were you using?

55. wow,.............all i can say is wow! The athlon 64 X2 6400+ is starting to look a lot like a hot and inefficient melty pentium D's of yesterday when athlon 64 technology was considered "efficient"

Amazing a difference of what one generation (or two) can make.

56. Great to see the comparisons... and just in the nick of time.

I had purchased E6750 but didn't open it due to a back order on Case... Read this article and dashed back to the shop and replaced it with the E8200.
Shop doesn't even have it on the price list yet...It always pays to ask :)

57. DO NOT BUY FROM ZIPZOOMFLY.COM if you want your product actually shipped. Their website says this CPU is in stock. The order status says CPU shipped. But I got a back order slip with my other parts received...
