"The world’s largest x86 chip manufacturer did not unveil whether its customers did not want to get higher-speed Phenom chips, or the company had to delay the release of its higher-speed chips, or it could not get the new steppings of chips in time."

Do you believe "AMD is the world's largest x86 chip manufacturer" or did you just make up that factoid?

Costumers not demanding higher speed phenoms because AMD simply can't deliver them.

What customers?
You mean billy, and bob over there? lol?

What, did they do a survey? AMD should not even bother saying crap like this if they won't identify what customers, and how many they are speaking of lol.

So customers, that may also own AMD stocks, wanted AMD to look like utter idiots?
Thats the best theory Ive ever heard.

AMD is far from the largest chipmaker!
Intel make more processors than AMD and Intel also make more graphics processors anyone.

Missing the fact that the Phenom 2.3 gigs already OCs to 2.8-2.9 gigs, AND priced at $239. Compare that with the Intel Q6700 2.6 gig that cannot be OCd and priced at $550. Point is that AMD already has their higher frequency part for DIYers.

Why are you so agravated? ;) Think at that: An AMD proc + motherboard is 40% cheaper than an Intel proc + mobo. There's your answer.

Lets get real here. Anyone who pays for a new computer today or even upgrade would love to get a high-end Phenom at a reasonable price. AMD seems incapable of delivering these high-end processor for some reason or another. It not the customers demands for lower end CPUs as AMD allege.

There's even no solid roadmap AMD has. Disparate press releases from different sources that keep distracting computing communities and AMD fans.

I believe the AMD has a big challenge to overcome, that is to execute and meet the expectations of its shareholders and technical communities.
And to accomplish that, a major management overhaul is required; Hector has to go.

Lets hope AMD get well soon.

I thought Intel was the biggest...
