1. Does the DS107+ support DLNA UPnP, I assume it does but what formats does it stream as some DLNA servers only stream MPEG-2,WMV as that is the basic 1.0 spec.
Can the DS107+ stream AVI, MP4, MKV, MPG containers to various devices like a Playstation 3 (PS3 does AVI, WMV, MP4, MPG) ? Thanks [Posted by: Taxman | Date: 02/05/08]
I think, intelligible answers to asked questions can be found here: http://www.synology.com/enu/support/help-page.php?q_id=375 and http://www.synology.com/enu/support/help-page.php?q_id=313 [Posted by: Woodruff | Date: 02/07/08]
Thanks for that Woodruff seems like it does support it then, good to know & time to buy one.

2. I think the price is quite reasonably for such a high end quality product compared to most other offerings available
I want one !!!!!! [Posted by: alpha0ne | Date: 02/05/08]
3. Would be very intresting to compare it to very similar device like QNap TS-109 Pro.
Also, would like to know the answer to Taxman question: "Can the DS107+ stream AVI, MP4, MKV, MPG containers to various devices ..." Thanks [Posted by: nagual | Date: 02/06/08]

Hey Guys,This devices seems to be awesome. Been looking for a replacemento for my 4Yo Ximeta Netdisk 160gb. The only place I've found this is TigerDirect(or thru Amazon), offered for around $ 280 which is a reasonable price for all the features within. Answering Skrachi question: it doens't come with a harddrive, which can be purchased separately. As I already got a WD 500Gb Sata2 on Amazon, I guess I will only need to purchase the device. Hope my 2 cents can be of good use of all Cheers [Posted by: Melvin | Date: 02/11/08]
5. Hi. Actually the sources are Free (as in freedom), they just ask for shipping and handling costs which is completely ok.
The GPL'd code is available for download eg. at http://gpl.nas-central.org/SYNOLOGY/ [Posted by: Sources available | Date: 05/12/08]
