1. Hi, there seems to be a typo in the review title.
It should be PX8800GTS not PX8800GT :) [Posted by: karnage | Date: 02/07/08]
2. FINALLY, i've been waiting 2 months for this. what gives xbitlabs?
excellent review though. i would love for you guys to go 2560x1600...see how this would stand up to the gtx/ultra. [Posted by: khoai | Date: 02/07/08]
3. I would like to see a 3870x2 in there....

4. Vista!!! WTF If you are testing a gaming card, perhaps you could test it in a gaming environment, and that means using vista ONLY for directx10, and ONLY when that mode provides true visual enhancements. Gamers that care about performance will dual boot, and only use Vista when there is no other choice.
Of course, using XP for most of the tests would mean losing that big pay off from MS. Maybe its time to rename yourselves gamespotlabs. [Posted by: zak | Date: 02/08/08]
Lots of people guying this card will already have vista.XP is mainly used for benching DX9. [Posted by: Scotty1991 | Date: 02/08/08]
5. Yeah, this review seems a bit dated. For example, here's a dozen (G92-based) GTS 512mb cards, in stock, starting at $270 after rebate (with several in the $275-$290 range, after rebate)...

6. Do the 8800 gt/gts have a similar hdmi WITH sound out?
Thats what is holding me back buying one of theese and I am looking at the 3870 instead. Is that stupid? Do theese cards have full HDMI throughput? [Posted by: weeeee | Date: 02/08/08]
7. for 3DMark 06.
i get 9835 AMD FX60 dual cores @ 2.9ghz 3gb pc3200 creative faltal1ty sound card 150gb raptor. no way near what xbitlabs can achieve with the new intel core 2 duo and fast RAM. [Posted by: khoai | Date: 02/09/08]
8. Why the low scores on the 3870, is it old drivers? Now all suddenly you get the 3870 to score half of a 8800 gt. (The lowest scores compared to all reviewersites on the net!)

9. first - 8800GTS 512Mb fan at 1000-1100rpm IS NOT 'perfectly silent'.
second - no difference in noise test at idle/load. guys, did you have fixed rpm or there were any other things which made such results? i have this card in pretty silent box (2x120 fander at 720rpm, corsair 620W below half load). for 2D i use 40% 546rpm, which makes card fan equal in terms of noise with other fans in case, and gives 61-62C of gpu. at 3D i use 52% 821rpm (at 3D mode there is auto fan control in 40-52% duty), and card fan is easly audible from others, but still quite pleasant for my ears, especially when sound is on, but it is not silent. please, recheck your noise results, because they are far from real. 10. I always admired xbitlabs thorough review of products. but lately i am disappointed.
anantech.com did a review of the X2 with proper catalyst and the number shows how it beats the GTS G92 and GTX in most of the games. I wonder why xbitlabs use old drivers and release the review two weeks later than anandtech. [Posted by: why | Date: 02/23/08]
