I have 1 of these q9300 processors in a box downstairs of my house. Not sure if it will work in my motherboard or not for the board is 2.4 Ghz Quad. The processor is 2.5 Ghz which biostar said i needed to update the bios to FSB 1333.

What crazy power consumption!! Even at idle. I'm looking at a new Intel Core 2 Duo based solution, and my current solution, an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ at stock easily runs at half of these power consumptions.

Are these tests accurate? They seem quite high to me. It would be more believeable if they were measuring the power consumption of an entire system.

hey guys is it worth buying the 9300 over 6600? Ill be using it with vista and just some basic programming + gaming like COD4.

Now all i need is a good M_Board.

Would be nice with some gaming benchmarks in higher resolution, noone with a new cpu as one of these would play in less than 1280x1024, probably even higher, i'd imagine the results could change a lot.
