1. I see no mention whatsoever about inspecting for cheap capacitors.
The article uses the term "industrial class components" which translates to "cheap sh*t". Numerous power supplies are plagued by cheap caps such as the Fuhjyyu and others. It only costs pennies at the whole level to use premium caps such as Rubycon, but the manufacturers refuse to use quality parts. This results in products engineered by Accountants. These cheap caps are the cause of chronic power supply failures, yet the reviewers won't point these out. They are well known to the service community. see: www.badcaps.net The best design and/or most visually stunning set of ribbed heat sinks isn't worth anything when the power supply is populated with cheap caps.
