With the failiure of Pippin shouldn't Apple already learnt their lesson. The market in the game console busines is already saturated as it is. The Wii practically owns the casual audience while the PS3 and 360 dominates the hardcore audience.

I can see them maybe in the handheld business though.

I think this article is more of a early safe guard so that no one eles takes the Apple name and tries to make a gaming unit from it.

Looks like Crapple tries to turn ipod/phone into the iGame (already trademarked?) handheld console. But the question is, will _ANYONE_ pay for the proprietary iGame SDKs when Apple already have trouble of releasing iphone SDKs? Besides, there's already GP2X that doesn't come with exclusive SDK nonsense.

A big NO to Apple !! We don't need another platform. PC, PS2&PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii are more than enough. The gamemakers should concentrate to optimize their engines, and drivers and to extract the maximum efficiency from the available hardware. In other words, quality instead of quantity. Another platform is a waste of resources. Apple should conncentrate on what he know to do better: making fancy, shiny and overpriced gadgets for fanboys. Just my oppinion...
