too large of a difference between the latencies of the Formula and the Lanparty.

Maybe you guys should read some anandtech stuff about 1 very important parameter

Probably the best board ever made. Puts so much power in the hands on the owner, if the owner actually knows how to harness its power. Looks sweet. The problem with the NB can be solved by using a Thermalright chipset cooler so you can decide where to mount the fan, if needed. One sour note, X38 isn't that big a performance leap compared to P35 for users who don't care about multi-gpu configurations ( i.e. sane people), and DFI are usually the last guys to come out with boards, Asus gets them out earliest due to its relationship with Intel and releases boards with work-in-progress BIOSes, DFI releases them late, having learned from others' mistakes..

is the absence of any documentation on the basic as well as extensive BIOS features.

You would think they are trying to keep it all a secret - iits not just DFI

tRD = Performance level

Gigabyte P35 and X38 boards also let you change the performance level.

What Nickel said....pretty sure tRD and Performance level are the same parameter from what I read. Also, increasing the NB voltage should've helped to have lowered the Performance Level. I own one of these boards but haven't had the pleasure (headache?) of setting it up yet.

There seems to be some marginal and slight confusion because back in the days of Socket 939 and 478; DFI was king. Motherboards like the Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR and Pro 875B reached almost iconic status among enthusiasts for their supreme looks, extensive features and unmatchable overclocking performance.

The board is easy to find and the review was spot on. I am maybe not a novice at overclocking but this board and bios does take some "getting to know you" moments.

I run two HD3870's in crossfire and if I ferk up bad enough to need the jumpers to reset the bios I have to pull a card. I had the P-35 and wanted to crossfire sooooo..................new board.

I have hit 3500 mhz stable so far and I am still "getting to know" the board. Google google google which is how I found this review.
