7. I am curious if the Skulltrail could run on any LGA771 Xeon processors, my geuss that it can, but there again I could be wrong (Not going to try, just curious).

The reason I am wondering is because of power consumption and heat generated from the CPU

Dissregard my last post, because the Skulltrail can run on Xeons

Intresting read to build a more "affordable" Skulltrail system...

8. So it's an extreme chess gaming platform?

9. Why wasn't any (mainstream) C2D and C2Q included in the tests?. From my point of view since there is no reference point to either a mainstream C2D/Q the whole article is rather meaningless as it shows no real strength or if any weakness other than the fb-dimm issue.
[Posted by: AL79 | Date: 02/24/08]
There's heaps of articles comparing the various C2D/C2Q chips, so all that's needed is a reference point to compare the new systems against. The QX9770 is as good as any other model for this.

10. amazing. i've read other reviews that stated the exact opposite of what this review said about the gaming. but this review and tomshardware's review both match up nicely. so i'm going with this. glad i didn't get it.

11. Damn. I can't even beat the computer at chess on a 500MHz system. I cast see paying $3000 for a computer whose only perk is that it will, without hesitation, make my life miserable every time I challenge it to a game of chess.

12. Why not use something like Supreme Commander as a benchmarking game for this setup?

13. U misspelled Crysis :p
