As long as these naysayers keep on arguing like this, it's never going to be over. But as far as consumers should be concerned, it's done for.

2. So if I get this one correctly:
Dreamworks wants money (at least 150 mio$) from Blu-ray consortium, or Shrek won't be published on blu-ray format.

More like Dreamworks is tied to a dead format through contracts with Toshiba. Until Tosh says it's OK (and I expect it to do so soon) DW is stuck with SD/HD-DVD.

3. It's too simple and native to draw to such a conclusion. Given now Dreamworks is the only studio who typically only draw cartoons only can't release BluRay. Also remember that BluRay players can playback DVD as well. It shouldn't be counted as a obstacle toward BluRay's success!
[Posted by: No worries. BluRay is still the only true winner! | Date: 02/28/08]
Anything thats a laptop or larger can play DVD's. Nobody is looking for a DVD player. Bluray players being backward compatible won't cause it to be more adopted any more quickly. Its the price that is stopping the mainstream from adopting this next-gen format.
