I really wonder if ANYONE who is performance orientated buys MSI boards anymore

3. If the system works without the memory switch cards at all, then it shouldn't matter what speed you're running them at, leave out the switch cards. The P35 chipset doesn't have the ability to disable internally the memory interface going to the unused memory type. It seems like the card is just flashiness, using electrical power that the chipset opens up to the slots whether you have memory installed or not. The chipset certainly isn't communicating over both memory interface types at once, and there's no "bridging" to be done. Should have tested the board without the switch cards.

5. Good article. As a satisfied owner of the DDR-2 only platinum I like the board and it's price.

Anytime I see a product straddling the fence, I don't expect it be a great choice regardless of which side of the fence you land on. It seems like that's the case with this board also.

Good article, I will go home today and try some of those figures, I did not know about switching the jumper, but I did know about the FSB figures dropping down after 444-447 fsb, now there is a real chance of getting a q9550 so that I may overclock, b/c I was limited at 444 fsb and stuck at that frequency and a multiplier of 8.5 on the q9550 ment that I would have to go with a qx9650 with an unlocked multiplier so that I can achieve a high overclock, thanks for the article.
