3. And about time (though I don't remember ever reading that the bug actually caused problems in any of the reviews I've seen, with or without the BIOS patch). Hopefully they can get things going in the frequency department as well.

4. "because of the notorious “TLB bug” that resulted in stability loss in case all four processor cores were loaded heavily"

So is a pre B3 tri-core Phenom affected by the TLB bug?

Best Buy is selling systems with the TLB-affected Phenom processor. They seem to be compensating by stacking them with 3GB of memory, a 22' monitor, and 1TB of drive space. When I asked the Lead sales person about whether the system had a chip with the bug he of course had no idea what I was talking about and even said that the local Intel rep said that the Phenom 9500 seriously outperformed the Q6600. When I asked for the name of the Intel person and the website where he got that info he of course had no idea

yes pre b3 is affected by the bug, but they covered the bug by a bios update which reduced the overall system performance by around 8%-11%, which of course gave core 2 duo processor another boost.

Anyway, it was rumored that only ppl running virtual machines will realize the bug "on pre-updated bios systems", but i don't know if that's true or not.

5. Yeah, people have only been waiting how long? I mean seriously they got the first tape outs like last month, get to it AMD. I hope to see some 9550's without the TLB bug pretty soon, or I may even consider a Tri-Core part, without the TLB bug of course.

6. I was so looking forward to buying the new B3 Phenom but after looking at the huge differences in power draw compared to Penryn (more than double under load) I think I'll wait to see how the .45nm Phenom's go
