1. does Creative have any confirmations ? tests or something ?
I hope to see some reviews about the new Xonar, I knew that Xonar need more CPU usage than Creative ones but how much, and is that usage worth the dillama of Alchemy drivers ? [Posted by: Xajel | Date: 03/26/08]
2. ANYTHING is better than having to use 'creative' software

3. As someone who just replaced an X-Fi with an ASUS Xonar card, it does indeed use EAX in EVERYING I have that supports it.
Creative are just worried that they will be dethroned and can't keep their monopoly in the soundcard business. [Posted by: MrCobra | Date: 03/30/08]
MrCobra is wrong I'm afraid. Running an EAX 5.0 application on this card clearly fails to deliver any EAX effects - no reverb and no filters. The only EAX 5.0 function that succeeds is the query for EAX 5.0 support, every other call fails. It is highly suspicious that any soundcard would claim EAX 2 and 5 support without doing EAX 3 and 4 as well. EAX 5.0 is a superset of EAX 4.0 which is a superset of EAX 3.0. If the card really did EAX 5.0 it would be be capable of doing EAX 3 & 4 as well. [Posted by: Sparky | Date: 03/31/08]
Are you using the latest beta drivers for the card? The original driver only support EAX 1.0 and 2.0.
