It would have been interesting to see the SCSI U320 card (Adaptec 39320D) run in U160 mode to be able to draw correct conclusions from the difference between the two interfaces and the two cards.

using two SATA hdds in raid 0, it is possible to achieve much better results spending less.
Two Maxstor 9plus 200 GB and Silicon Image on-board SATA-RAID controller, achieve about 110 MB/s of highest transfer rate and WB99 score much better than the 15K Atlas drive
