Well this was one hell of a review!l No reasons to complain for me, the nice graphs at the end of the review are also a nice addition. I think this really serves its purpose well - being neutral enough to point out both strengths and weaknesses of the SLI solution, so one may decide much easier where to invest his hard-earned cash. Thumbs up.

I agree, I liked the article. It was interesting to see how sometimes a single higher end card was better than 2 main stream, but then be the other way around on another application. Also that some had higher or lower minimum frame rates.

Enjoyed it Xbit!

When the first HD3870 review was published on X-bit, I wrote a comment about testing with no AA or 2xAA. Still nothing, tests are only done with 4xAA, which seems to fit Nvidia as their antialiasing is very efficient, and differences are supposed to mostly disappear when anything but 4xAA is chosen.

Please, guys, could you test with no AA and 2xAA?

Also, what happened to image quality tests? You used to have those some time ago...

9800 GTX is not 9800 GX2... and there are not a single game in the world where 9800 GX2 would lose to 9600 sli (basicaly 9800 GX2 is 8800gts in sli mode, and 8800 gts 512 will be always better than 9600....)

"Overall, the packaging of the Gigabyte GV-NX96T512H-B is pretty and secure while the accessories are up to the product class."

LOL. What is the deal with every 'reviewer' site doing this? Who gives a crap about the packaging. Utterly silly....

I sure wish you would have tested with a "single" GeForce 9600 GT as well, just for comparison sake to the other 8800 series cards, as I'm in the market for a single card ;)

But thanks for the test, it was still informative!

Regards

I paid for two of youre 8800gt,s to run in sli on my M3A32-MVP DELUXE and find out Nvidia has locked sli in the drivers from running on intel mobo,I can't tell you how disappointed I was to find this to be the case, to make things worse, older drivers have been modified in the community to allow sli to run.
Now that I know SLI can run and successfully operate on this chipset but you choose not to activate it I am even more emotional about the whole situation
