1. Would it be possible to add input latency measurements to future monitor articles?
And also, some monitors (like Samsung's 2253) audibly "hum" when set at certain brightness levels, and I never see reviewers mention this. Such information would also be very useful. [Posted by: SCherry | Date: 04/28/08]
"And also, some monitors (like Samsung's 2253) audibly "hum" when set at certain brightness levels, and I never see reviewers mention this"It's very dependent on specific device: some units are noisy, some not. [Posted by: Oleg Artamonov | Date: 04/30/08]
2. Samsung 245B or the new 2493HM. Which should I choose?
[Posted by: wolfIT | Date: 04/28/08]
The main difference is design and presence of separate HDMI input in 2493HM (but you can connect 245B to HDMI source using HDMI-to-DVI adapter). If you don't need it, 245B is ok.

3. No bench on games, so, useless...
[Posted by: fullgrip | Date: 04/28/08]
18 pages and still clueless as to which the reviewer thinks is the best. How about writing a conclusion that specifically relates to the monitors that have been examined? You know, the 17 other pages you just wrote? Good depth in the actual reviews of the monitors themselves but then horribly vague Highs and Lows at the end of each which could be levelled at almost any monitor out there. Bench on games?..Team Fortress 2, Dustbowl, soldier: 45 kills, 30 times get killed. Not very good, but at least I tried. [Posted by: Oleg Artamonov | Date: 04/30/08]
4. TN are supposed to be 6-BIT, while *VA and IPS are 8-BIT.
No word on this? It seems pretty important to me. [Posted by: :o | Date: 04/29/08]
There's no way to measure that -- 8-bit and 6-bit panels look very close, most differences in image quality are due to inappropriate color calibration, inaccurate gamma correction and color temperature calculations inside the monitor and so on. So, as for the inexpensive SOHO monitors, real bit depth is not the most significant parameter.

5. Im very interested how would HP LP2465 compare with them.
Any chanc we could soon get an article on that? [Posted by: Cokio | Date: 04/29/08]
6. These reviews are worthless, Dell already has a 2408 out and they're reviewing the 2407wfp-hc that came out last summer
[Posted by: ackspam | Date: 04/29/08]
None of these. Dell 2407 is a good choice, but it has some drawbacks -- rather awkward on-screen menu, ghosting, some minor color reproduction problems... Samsung 2493HM looks shiny (in different means) but it's based on TN matrix... So, there's no "go buy it right now!" monitor, at least among tested models.

8. BenQ 241W
[Posted by: Cokio | Date: 04/30/08]
FP241W? Greenish colors, relatively low contrast, VERY slow on-screen menu... Dell 2407WFP is much better.

9. Too less model being tested

10. Even if i'm going against the flow..
I believe these reviews are extraordinary and I'm so (!) glad you make so many round-ups, they're not easy to find, and the detail (the test and graphs) help me, at least me, to have a very good idea of the products examined. Thank you xbitters! [Posted by: from italy | Date: 05/06/08]
11. I think NEC AccuSync LCD24WMCX is OEM by AOC, I have an AOC 916SW and it's using the same menu as NEC AccuSync LCD24WMCX.

12. Samsung 245T
LG L245WP Dell 2408WFP HP LP2465 NEC 2470WNX color accuracy is the most important thing to me, which one should i choose?WGC monitors show incorrect colors when displaying HDTV source, right? So i probably should not choose 2408? [Posted by: DanielSun | Date: 05/09/08]
13. lolair MB24W, what do you think about this?

14. Did you by chance measure the surface temperatures? Some of them are hot to the touch.

15. Great down-to-Earth review methods and comments. I'm looking to invest in a 24" flat panel monitor later this year: comments provided helped educate me on what to look for when I get closer to plunking down actual cash..
