It would be interesting to see some info on the EA500D that comes bundled with the Sonata III 500 case. Various correspondence with Antec did not give me a satisfactory answer. The EA500D that came with my case lists two 12v rails @ 22A with no total amperage amount. The EA 500 is 17A + 17A = 34amps. I was told the output was the same but no documentation was or has been provided. The unit I received I assume is manufactured by Delta and not Seasonic.
I now keep the EA500D as a spare since I have no idea how reliable it is. My current psu I replaced it with is a Corsair HX520.
Let the unsuspecting consumer beware.

I owned some Antec power supplies, they are junks. The producer used 'Fuhijitsu' or so capacitors wich are blowing after 2 year of usage. This was my case, but a friend of mine had an exploded Antec after 4 months.

The conclusion is Antec power supplies are middle quality, like those present on "white cases' but they are more expensive. I will never ever buy Antec.

Few years ago Antec PSUs were made by CWT and they have serious problems with capacitors. Now, if you read article, you should notice that all tested PSUs are made by Seasonic.

dear sir,
You did not mentioned what happened to the rest of the power which is not being used by rthe pc, suppose PSu 350 watts being used by via c7 cpu which draws total 55 watts, what happens to the rest, are we still paying 350 watts or we pays only the energy that we used. is the rest of energy not being used is turned into heat???

thanks sir for your article.
