A buyer would be far better off buying an older P35 board for less money with proven superior performance

If that is how you think of it then why don't people just stay with the Intel P945, it's been proven to be solid and stable and also has superior performance...

The cost of the new P45 board doesn't cost that much of a difference and with the support of PCIe 2.0, Express Gate, Drive Xpert, CrossFire X, Balanced lanes in CrossFire mode, and support up to 16GB of ram why would anyone still go with a P35?
