Yeah, I was surprised how well it ran on my now two year old 8800GTS 640MB card. I guess a spruced up Oblivion engine doesn't need that much either. Still looks good though.

A great review as always. The game does look nice and it's not as graphics demanding as it looks like.
As for the GPUs performance, the 4870 1G is one great card.It even surpasses the gtx280 at 1920 res. by ten frames/second. Unfortunately, crossfire still needs to be improved for this title.

I love it when you do reviews like this. This goes into my "News I Can Use" folder in my games file.

I now have a base-line for setting up my 4870-1gb.

you guys are the ONLY site on the net that gets such horrible results with a GTX260. almost every review you do shows the 9800GTX getting equal performance to the GTX260. I own a GTX260 192SP and I get better minimum framerates then you guys get for the average in all games you test.

in Fallout 3 at the same exact settings at 1920 you got 30fps for the GTX260 and I get 50-60fps. I also rarely drop below 40-45 fps anywhere in this game. either your testing or your card is seriously flawed.

perhaps the gtx260 that you guys are using is broken since it never seems to perform better than the 9800gtx. heres a few other reviews that are right in line with real people are actually getting with the gtx260. sure looks a lot better than that 30fps bs you guys are getting.

1920x1200 4xAA gtx260

firingsquad 54fps

hardocp 50fps

bit-tech 57fps(260+ so take off 2 to 3fps for reg 260)

Fingersquad? I don't even trust their benchmarks, neither i do for hardcop.Simply those sites are unreliable.I mean come on...
85fps for the 280gtx vs 64fps for the 4870x2....

but you trust a site that has a GTX260 thats as slow or slower than a 9800gtx in almost every review.

I can match the benchmarks at those sites I listed for my GTX260 in Fallout 3 and every other game they test. not to mention all my other systems were right in line with those 3 sites too.

When your GTX 260 cannot outperform your 9800GTX+ did you not suspect something was amiss? Particularly as a quick google shows that's not the case for other reviews.

We apologize for incorrect results for GeForce GTX 260 due to testbed software flaw. New results are absolutely correct.

With respect, Alexey.

they are still way off at every resolution. 39 fps at 1920 with 4x aa is over 50fps average on my comp and also on every other review out there. heck hardwarecanucks got that framerate at 2560 and 4x aa. http://www.hardwarecanuck...formance-part-1-a-17.html

You should understand one simple thing: we know nothing about other sites' hardware and how they're tesing, therefore, we don't pay much attention to their results, and never will. We can be responsible only for our own hardware, software, benchmarking routines and possible flaws, as we are always trying to bring most correct information to our fellow readers.

With respect, Alexey.

well when every other site is getting completely different results then you need to review your testing policy. Im tired of seeing the gtx260 look artificially bad in reviews that you do. you should be tipped off when it doesnt perform any better than a 9800gtx.

I own a gtx260 and can easily reproduce the results that other sites get. something is just not right with that gtx260 that you have and anybody that owns one would agree with me.
