The driver release notes said a 20% increase for games in CPU LIMITED SITUATIONS!!!! You guys are using a Core i7 at 3.2GHz. It didn't say 20% overall. Learn to read before you bash what someone says.

You are, of course, correct, but there is a real performance boost even on i7-965 EE. We can retest on i7-920, but we don't think, that there will be much difference.

ACK, sorry to point this out...

"For our tests we chose two most significant representatives of ATI Radeon HD 4800 family:"

Wait... wouldn't you want to test it out on those models that have LESS time out in the wild??? I mean, besides performance gains, stability is ALSO a big reason to update your drivers...

See what performance increases happen with the 4850x2 or the 4830 in xfire... Did the drives fix the install issue with 4830s in xfire?

Picking 2 cards that have the most driver development and market time seems to be a bit strange... especially when you leave out those cards and configs that are known to have issues. Those of us with those cards / configs, well, we wait with bated breath, hoping this release eases our driver frustration!

Also since 9.1 drivers, ALL the games are crushing between 10-30 minutes of playing, and this is much frequent with crossfire configurations. It will be interesting a test to confirm this. Personaly I revert to 8.12 and those problems dissapeared.
