I love those games/card reviews. As a curious fact. If you install the 8.12 drivers, than rename the FEAR2.exe into FarCry2.exe, you got results 5% better than 9.2 drivers )). Yeah I know it's kinda strange...
Regarding the game, it's 100% a console port, that's why there is almost no AI, scripting is linear in game, and the sound is a completely crap. Except for 5.1 positioning there isn't something else. The first Far Cry were awesome from this aspect, the 3D sound realy made the game, but with this one....
Overall, good story, average gameplay, mediocre graphics and pathetic sound. That's my verdict.

Yeah, this game is pretty much kind regarding system specs. I also prefer the first F.E.A.R game, though I gladly played through this sequel as well. It had a kind of a macabre ending sequence, hehe.

(Not that I'm a fanboi of either ATI or Nvidia), take about 10% off the Nvidia scores if you wish to have equal image quality with ATI cards. That is, enable TR SSAA instead of MSAA, in order to match ATI's QUALITY Adaptive AA.

ATI's performance AAA is roughly equal to Nvidia's TR-MSAA. Perhaps Xbitlabs is doing this to make up for worse AF on ATI cards, which are still angle-dependent at 45 degrees.. I do not know!!

Hmm, why is the GTX285 so much faster than the 280...? Hardware wise, the 285 is only ~10-15% faster than the 280, but the GTX285 is around 35% faster than the 280. Strange...

I don't see it being that much, really.

1280 : 154.2 -> 144.7
1680 : 121.6 -> 111.6
1920 : 100.2 -> 88.2

(Resolution: GTX285 -> GTX280)

how come you guys never put the 9800GX2 in there. I have 2 on them in quad, and I know it can be compared to a singel 295, but sometimes I wonder what is better. a single 295 or 2 9800GX2's in quad??
