Firstly,ATI doesn't support 32x FSAA.The AA modes that ATI cards support in the 3000 and 4000 series are from the worst to the best:
MSAA
ADAA performance
ADAA quality
CFAA up to 24x which includes:8xMSAA + 8x edge detective + 8xADAA
SUPER adaptive AA up up 14x.Supported in crossfire modes only.

As for your conclusion about the negligible differences between 4xFSAA and so called 32xFSAA,I have to utterly disagree with you.I can tell that theres a significant difference between 0xAA and 2xADQ AA in world in conflict.And the difference between 4xADQ AA and 8xADQAA is enormous and the performance hit compared to the default MSAA is noticeable as well.

This is another well made review...The Fallout 3 chart is misplaced by the Mass Effect chart as well.
Ohh.and btw, ATI cards do not support 32x full scene anti-aliasing, even in crossfire mode.

Guys you are wrong!!!
The ATI DOES have 32xAA in crossfire. All you need to do is to go into Ati Control Center, first select Adaptive AA on (quality), then move the AA slider all the way back to x16.
Then select from the texbox down, the last option (there are 3 or 4), i think is "box". There you have it: 32xAA

And yes, I don't know about those screenshots, bu personaly I see a HUUUGE diference between 16xAA and 4xAA when I'm playing C.S.: Source for example. The image is so much smooth and fluid at ~ 300FPS...

I'm curious, I see you included 4870 x4 (or 2 x 4870x2) but why didn't you also include GTX 295 SLI? Would've been interesting to see how Quad-SLI stacked up to Tri-SLI or CrossfireX.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we don't have two GeForce GTX 295, so, we were unable to check Nvidia Quad SLI performance.

All these tests prove to me is that we are a long way off in graphic card heaven, even these top of the line cards and configurations are simply not up to the task of running the latest games at the highest settings and resolutions, and that to me is unacceptable and quite disappointing...theres still a LOT more work to be done in improving graphic cards from both the red and green team

I suggest a card to be made with 6 gigs of vram memory, 680 stream processors running at 3.4 gigahertz at the core, shaders running at 4.4 gigahertz minimum, bandwidth at 360 gig/s, and then, maybe then we will be able to run these games at a decent frame rate.....3 or 4 way S.L.I not only proves its simply not enough to handle these games but its uneconomical to do so

I already posted this in a much more recent article, but this is probably a bit more appropriate here.

On the page that compares the transparency antialiasing modes, Fallout 3 already appears to be using alpha-AA by default for ATI cards when AA is being used, unlike with Nvidia cards.

Even Nvidia's best TR-SSAA mode does not clearly show the tree above the building in the lower right corner (the tree is almost non-existent), while all of ATI's modes show that tree so conspicuously and anti-aliased.

Also, you seem to base your conclusion on only one game, Half Life 2 Episode 2, in that since there was not a difference between ATI's Performance and Quality Adaptive AA, Nvidia's TR-MSAA is roughly equal to ATI's Quality Ad-AA. After closely looking at Nvidia's TR-MSAA, I see so many sampling errors on the fence that it is almost worse than leaving them with jaggies. It certainly seems that ATI's Ad-AA is at least equal to Nvidia's TR-SSAA, not TR-MSAA.
