This seems like a strangely out-dated comparative evaluation to be making seeing as the G2 (34nm) Intel SSD's have started shipping with corrected firmware. And the decision to not update to latest firmware? Dates the comparison even more.

The 8820 firmware is known to address workload performance issues, to omit using it is like writing a review from inside a time machine back when the G1 Intel SSD's were released.

Nice read, but as oak said it is out of date. I have a request for your next SSD review, Can you include an equally priced RAID 0 array of WD blacks or blues?
