This overclocking guide is absolutely misguided. No overclocking on stock voltage at all! I would've loved to see how far The CPU goes without touching anything.

Thank you, Doors4ever, thank you. This is the first article to address dynamic Turbo overclocking in detail (if it has been addressed elsewhere I have missed it). To me it seemed like a no-brainier to include this in the normal review of these Lynnfield chips yet no one mentions it even in their Overclocking sections. This article (I know it was supposed to be a review of the MB) laid everything you'd want to know out: Max frequencies and voltages, Performance between OC Turbo (dynamic) and OC non-Turbo (static), and - most important for me - the power consumption at all five states of load. Well written and clearly presented. Again, thanks.

It was a long article, so maybe Vlad missed the remark on page 8 that said the processors will operate at 3.5GHz-3.7GHz at stock voltage. There are a lot of variables that make "stock voltage" a misnomer--systems have different voltage sags or nominal voltage boosts, for example. Anyway, for an enthusiast, there is no reason to stay at default voltages, especially with a motherboard like this one. You either want to raise the default voltage for higher performance, or lower it for quieter and more efficient operation. So maybe you would want a "best GHz per Vcore in 0.06v increments" graph, but that would take ages to make!

Thanks to Doors4ever for explaining how he arrived at optimal voltage and frequency settings for his CPU's. This is a fantastic write-up that answers all the questions I had about LGA 1156 overclocking, except for one: how well does overclocking work with dynamic Turbo Boost and a budget board, like the GA-P55-UD3? I am looking forward to reading that upcoming article!

This is a great GUIDE and have all my recomendations. I am prety new in OC terms but i managed to dynamic OC my i5 750 to 4.1 GHZ wiht TURBO ON.
Who needs OC on default voltages ?? Who plan to buy this chip is planing to OC on 1.3 - 1.4 voltages, and have a goal at 4.0 ghz or small power usage and on 3.6 everything smaller is waste of money

GREAT JOB MAN AND THANKS A LOT, THIS GOES TO MY PREMIUM GUIDES
