For all those who said that xbitlab should have used MSI instead of Gigabyte because it is more efficient in power consumption. I want to inform you that Zotac H67-ITX is not efficient when compared to other motherboards

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1194-page5.html

In other words, xbitlab was using as inefficient motherboard for their intel configuration. Let us not ignore this

1)totaly diferent segment this APU vs CPU (and dont talking about die size)
2) Power supply: Tagan TG880-U33II (880 W). WTF? :-D....
Srry, but today is thumbs down!
3)How much Intel paid ,-)?

Maybe try actually using an E-350 system. It flys fast using Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera, and transferring files, and watching video ALL AT THE SAME TIME. My atom can't come close to this in actual use. Not sure how a reviewer would "benchmark" this other than by just using the system on the net for a day and then realizing how low the power usage was...

Conclusion1: Maroon1 has lost all his credibility for me.
Conclusion2: Unless there is a serious -and soon- rework of this article and particularly of its conditions and conclusions, Xbitlabs has seriously lost my confidence as well.

Thanks for the review. I enjoyed reading it. What I would have liked to see is some performance figures for the overclocked E-350. While it shouldn't matter much, I wonder if overclocking the GPU core does anything for gaming, or if that's purely CPU bound.

Its a travesty xbit did not include the MSI Zacate board in the comparisons

You can build a pretty sick system with this for not a lot of money:

$144.99 Motherboard: Gigabyte M1 Mini ITX DDR3 1066 Motherboard GA-E350N-USB3 http://www.amazon.com/gp/...p;creativeASIN=B004P1IN8G

$49.20 -- Case: MI-008 Tower Black P4 Chassis with 250W Itx Psu+sata Power Supply (Nice, small ITX case with built-in PSU and room for a Blu Ray Drive and Card Reader)http://www.amazon.com/gp/...p;creativeASIN=B001H0BA24

$59.63 -- HDD: Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Green SATA http://www.amazon.com/gp/...p;creativeASIN=B002U1N95K

$59.95 -- Blu-Ray: LG Electronics CH08LS10K LightScribe SATA Blu-ray Combo Drive http://www.amazon.com/gp/...p;creativeASIN=B002JIMW4S

Total: $313.77 -- Not bad at all. I doubt if you can go any lower than that and still have something useful.

It seems silly to me to compare apples with oranges. It is obvious that Zacate APUs and Atom platform are not the same with Celerons, i3 2100t and similar systems. 1st the price difference between these systems is HUGE and 2nd the i32100T has a tdp of 35 W when Zacate asks for 18W and atom something less. My opinion is that this article is at least unsuccessful to help anyone choose the right system.

You clearly took sides on this one. Why not title this: Why Intel is better than AMD?

AMD is clearly taking on the netbook market, meaning the ULV's and the atoms. The fact that Fusion is even compared to an i3 provides insight on how this is hurting intel. This is good competition, without AMD we will have a monopoly

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from Intel's web site (http://ark.intel.com/prod...cessor-(3M-Cache-2_50-GHz) I'm seeing that i3-2100T has HD 2000? Article claims it's HD 1000.

Article seems very biased towards Intel, i even didn't read whole article just wanted to see the conclusion at first so that what xbitlabs has to say.

Wow its just like comparing the salary and role of a management person and a fresher. Why to pay such a high salary for a dumb performer?

So we don't pay for Intel's low end CPUs. Intel should invest money in marketing and making and spreading fake reviews.

The performance AMD gives in $100 is offered by $400 CPU of Intel. I don't wana read any of xbitlabs reviews again :-#. There should be a bar of benchmark.

Intel had no GPU strength, i want to ask xbitlabs that are they saying

"Intel's HD graphics is better than ATI"
If you say this then say SandyBridge is better than AMD Fusion.

Intel can make CPU but they are not smart enough to beat AMD-ATI and NVIDIA in a shot.

Below is an analogy -
Intel is to Microsoft, AMD is to Linux.

That's it. You know what Monopoly MS does, same is here with Intel.

Why not search "Intel Monopoly" on google. you will see where Intel is better. I suspect xbitlabs now for sure.

And then search "AMD monopoly", you will see the same results that was shown against "Intel Monopoly". That simply means only Intel has such a dishonest and cheap marketing path.

I have the Lenovo Laptop using the E-350 and HD 6310 processor combo. The performance is fantastic in many games and HD playback and I paid a mere 299 bucks for this laptop with 320 GB drive and 4GB memory. A great deal and a great performer for the porice. I currentlty am running Elder Scrolls IV Skyrim in medium res on the 15" screen and am loving it.

The "T" suffix devices are in extremely short supply within USA and just not available in Asia.

What I was wondering about is if I were to select a not "T" suffix processor and under-clock to the same level as the "T" suffix standard, would I see similar level of reduced power consumption?

For me power consumption is a major consideration since the system is going to be running 24/7 .
