Horrible performance for the price, poor compatibility.

Might as well get a card with aftermarket cooling to begin with. There are plenty of those from Sapphire, Gigabyte, MSI, Zotac, Point of View, PowerColor, etc.

to bad that you haven't done a sound test so you could see if it was stealth or just less noisy.

I wonder if this would fit an HD5770 reference board or would it strike the same sort of problems found with the HD6850/70 cards

It is strange how Xbitlabs is showing one after another bad coolers, that can't compete with the Thermalright Archon. But the point is that this is just Xbitlab's own context. The companies don't think about tech reviews, technical competition or technical tests. The reason why there are these poor publications is that these companies think that there is room for crappy products, for the consumers, who don't know any better. If these companies were really interested in competition, even some of the new coolers would be equal or better than Thermalright Archon. None of them are even close, which proves they are all profit experiments by uncommitted companies. They are not even as good as the mainstream coolers made by the well-known large companies like Gigabyte. It means the element of scam on the computer market, the rubbish companies who are there just to make profit. I'm assuming here that Xbitlabs review evenly every market segment, don't just pick the worst.
