Great mobo, full of features...but full of bugs two...

Visit the forum of abit just to check out the bugs..

Voltage bugs, 204mhz fsb bios bugs (overclocking without telling), EC53 capacitor BUG, OTES bug, Post bug....i mean...abit engineers? ABIT DUMGINEERS.... somethings...not even the dumass engineers would let pass...but abit did....

as for Abit not putting com ports or a parallel port on this board, who needs them. The last item I used with a serial port was my old Backup power supply which has since gone the way of the dinosaurs. as for a parallel port, my printers are all on a networked Linksys 3 port printserver. I say all companies should do away with the last of the legacy devices and free up more system resources.

Does this really mean that you can't install Zalman CNPS7000A-CU on this board?! I made an order yesterday which includes both and now I find out that I doesn't fit on the board.

I was wondering if this motherboard has a 3 or 4 phase power system? Anandtech says 4 phase and xbitlabs says 3 phase.....
Mabye the reviewers get a 4 phase card and we get a 3 phase card when we buy it?

Also hardocp said: capacitors for this board, manufactured by the noted Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Rubycon
Will this be correct for the board sold in the shops? Or maybe the rubycon capacitors are only for reviewers and we get the cheap chineese shit?

Anyone tried to remove the entire OTES cooling solution on this card? This cooling should be performed by the PSU not this OTES solution. I have a 220 dollar enermax PSU with 2 fans. One in the bottom and another in the rear (as normal). What kinda blocking will this OTES be for the fan in the bottom of the PSU. Plastic in front of the air intake of the PSU does not sound good to me. Many reviwers says that the entire OTES is unnecessary...

Also can I disable the red lights in there? Don't want a disco in my living room. This is a computer not a party.

Also does the reatil version of the board in the shops come with the fans socket (the black bracket on the motherboard who you fasten the cooler to)? If not does this follow the boxed version of the athlon64?

Great that they got rid of the lpt and com ports. Why didn't they also get rid of the ps2 ports, the floppy port and 2 more pci ports while they where at it.

Anyone wanan buy a secure IDE card *lol*?
Thanks for any input you can gimme.

I wander... WHY... !!!

NO ONE has ever mentioned the LACK of SERIAL (com) PORT and the LACK of PARALLEL PORT...!!!
No review that I've read so far mentions that as a negative... WHY ???
There should be a Waring At least.. like...

BEWARE... THIS MOBO, HASN'T GOT a SERIAL-PORT, neither PARALLEL

Maybe, ... I say maybe, there are people out there that Still Need at LEAST one of those, ... Like I DO
And to my TOTAL surprise there isn't one installed in ABIT KV8-MAX-3
instead of the Serial port, you get a STUPID little FUN, given a fancy name OTES-TECHNOLOGY..!!
W T F !!!!!!!!!!!!

We are not THAT stupid to believe there is something to gain from that.
O/Cing Enthusiasts do not rely on such CHEAP Equipment..!!!
ABIT...!!! YOU TOTALY DISAPONTED ME...
And the Various reviews arround the internet for not pointing-out about this problem, (since all M/Bs include a Serial Port to my knowledge)

Believe me.. Buying a PCI to Serial Port (like I did) didn't help much, as it's got problems and it is never reliable as the one pre-installed to the m/b.
Probably because it needs extra drivers for the card.. (appart from windows serial port drivers)

Well... if I knew about this earlier, I would buy myself another brand, something like ASUS,,, don't know... !
I just bought an ABIT since my 2 previous m/bs were Abit and I was tottaly happy with them.
NOT THIS TIME THOUGH

This Comment is only as a Beware...!
It is a stable Motherboard overall
