We need to know the GPU, Shader and Memory clock rate of the 460. What model 460 was used?

Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1 GB graphics card was used with regular clock-speed.

Then I ask that the 460 results are re-benched. Because the 460 minimum frame rates are on par with a 470 when AA is used. Although I would also like to see the 460 re-benched without AA.

We re-bench things in accordance with general demand. We see those results adequite for the story and we believe that the most of the actual purchasers do as well.

This is normal since the graphics engine relies on DX9+MRT. You can se MSAA forced results in the text.

Hmm I am running a i7920@3.5gHz and GTX260 SLI and I keep getting low (~20-10) fps in certain areas namely shipborad cut scenes and parts of some maps (the Terran base in the campaign mission where you and the zerg are racing to take an artifact from the protoss). The rest of the time fps is much higher. Does any one know what might be causing this or how to fix it?

Great article. I would have enjoyed a comparison of different CPU architectures, aside from clock speed comparisons done on the Core i7.

The performance differences are substantial:

The bad thing about this version is that while its practically impossible to make the predecessor lag, that won't be possible without getting HD5970+Core i7 here.

30 fps average is not enough if you care enough to play more than hour a week.

The game does not use DX11 Display Lists, no matter which CPU we use, we are slowdowned by single/double (at best) threaded performance. Yhe good thing is that it still provides decent performance.

Wow your site is wonderful i landed here when i did a google search for the ASUS Crossahir comparison to Gigabit board. I then found this review, you guys are very thorough but what about older Radeon HD cards? I have 2 Radeon HD 4650 in a crossfirex setup and while I have been using SC2 it would be interesting to see what the frame rates are with this setup on the different quality settings.

What software do you use to measure the Frame-rate during game play?
