AMD won't have DDR 2 probably until early 2005 becuase of the integrated memory controller. DDR 2 is supposedly twice as expensive as the DDR 1 plus the memory controller will scale with the processor so latencies should drop. I think AMD will be fine because it will take some time for companies to release PCI EX only cards. I am sure they will come in both flavors.
