Be honest, how much did nVidia pay for this review?

The 450 beating the 5830? What a crock of shite.

It seems that nvidia found a way to beat amd's 1 year old 5700 series. Sadly looking at performance per watt and performance per square mm nvidia is still behind. The die is 40% larger than the 5700. For the consumer this is very good, lower prices, better performance. But from an engineering point of view I am kind of disappointed, I had expected more from nvidia given the fact that they need to fight 6700 cards not the 5700. They used so much die area for so little. Maybe the fully enabled chips coupled with a wider bus will show the real performance of the gf106.

Who cares about game performance nowdays?
It's a pity that xBit doesn't test encoding/transcoding and computing functionality.

So far as I am concerned the G80 and G92 have a much longer life in them still. As for the GTS450 it is very under whelming and under performing. It should be falling in the gray area between GTS250 and the GTX260 (192) in terms of performance but yet it can't even compete with a single GTS250 half the time much less what ATI has on the table. So that is why I bought a GTX460 instead and would have bought a 5830 had the Rop count had not been nerfed. At least I got a working sli hack for my ATI board but got the bridges for both SLI and crossfire if I need them.
