A great upgrade over a Velociraptor (10k rpm hard drive)! Also very happy with the five year warranty. Hopefully I'll never have to exercise it but it's good to know that Intel is willing to back it to that extent.;creativeASIN=B006VCP9G6

That's cute. But Corsair GT is still the fastest, if you don't count in Raid 0 and PCI express cards. I wonder if they released something faster during this year? Sandforce 3 is coming in the latter part of 2013 earliest.

/facepalm did you even read the review. the 520 is faster than the GT in most of the tests the ran.

Whether it is more reliable is a matter of opinion and is dictated by the owners personal needs. I would tend to agree with you that the GT has been time tested as a rather stable ssd, but not necessarily the fastest

I'll take ANY SSD that doesn't die from within moments to months. Last thing I want is the faster performance SSD then killing all my data all of a sudden. The Intel SSD 520 seems to have all the hallmarks of Performance and Reliability I've been waiting for AND the price isn't bad for the 240Gb (the one to get).

Plextor Mp2 SSD are sweet its based on the great marvel controller and its faster then the standard marvel ssd. I dont like Sandforce controllers even if its on Intel.

Intel also has not showed this in their Cougar Point SATA2 bug.

Seagate also didn't show it... three times over, in 7200.11, 12 and then Expansion external models.

Oh, wait, what was the point again?

I still dont like the decision, that they didnt stay with their own, extremely good, controllers and keep developing it
